Brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) is a hormone produced by the heart that helps regulate blood pressure and volume. BNP is released in response to increased blood pressure and is responsible for lowering blood pressure and increasing the amount of water and sodium excreted in the urine. High levels of BNP have been linked to an increased risk of congestive heart failure, stroke, and other cardiovascular issues. Low BNP levels can indicate an underlying health problem or potential heart disease. Additionally, BNP levels can be used to monitor the effectiveness of heart medications, such as ACE inhibitors and diuretics.

【INTENDED USE】
The Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) Test Kit (CLIA) is intended for quantitative determination of Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) in human plasma, as an aid in the diagnosis and assessment of heart failure severity.

【SUMMARY】
BNP belongs to the natriuretic peptide family, which was originally discovered by de Bold et al. Although BNP was originally isolated from pig brain tissue (originally named brain natriuretic peptide),2 but in the end people confirmed that the heart is the main source of BNP.
BNP is regulated by specific cell receptor and neutral endopeptidase cleared from the blood circulation, its half-life (t 1/2) is about 23 minutes. Extensive research results show that BNP can be used for patient diagnosis, prognosis and treatment monitoring. Heart disease patients contain High-level BNP.
Plasma BNP levels provide information about left ventricular dysfunction and heart failure clinical information, which is useful
for diagnosis and treatment that can be used as a supplement to other diagnostic test procedures (e.g., heart electrogram, chest x-ray and echocardiogram). BNP levels can be used to assess heart failure. The severity of exhaustion proved to be related to the New York Heart Association classification. The European Society of Cardiology has taken natriuretic peptides (e.g., BNP) test as guidelines for diagnosing or excluding heart failure.
【PRINCIPLE】
This product uses the double antibody sandwich method. In the first step, the sample, the BNP antibody labeled with alkaline phosphatase, and the magnetic particles coated with the BNP antibody are mixed. After incubation, the BNP in the sample forms an immune complex with the corresponding antibody. In the second step, magnetic separation and cleaning are performed to remove free enzyme-labeled antibodies.
The third step is to add the chemiluminescent substrate solution to the immune complex. Luminescence signal generated by the enzyme reaction is detected by Automatic Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer and the detected luminescence intensity is related to the concentration of BNP in the sample. Automatic Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer can calculate the concentration of BNP in the sample.
【REAGENTS】
The reagent strip includes BNP antibody coated with magnetic particles, alkaline phosphatase labeled BNP antibody, wash buffer and substrate solution.
