Feline Relaxin (RLN) Rapid Test Cassette(Serum/Plasma)

REF VIFRLN-302

INTENDED USE
Feline Relaxin (RLN) Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Feline Relaxin (RLN) in cat’s serum and plasma. The suggested detection period is 22-30 days after mating of the feline, for the auxiliary diagnosis of early pregnancy.
SUMMARY
Relaxin has many and diverse physiological roles, but is perhaps best characterized as a hormone of pregnancy. In feline’s serum, an increase in relaxin was detected 21 to 25 days after mating. Thereafter, concentrations peaked 35 to 49 days before declining about 2 weeks before parturition (gestation length approximately 63 days or 9 weeks).
PRINCIPLE
Feline Relaxin (RLN) Rapid Test Cassette is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test cassette has a testing window with an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When sample is applied into the sample well on the test cassette, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough feline relaxin in the sample, a visible T line will appear.
The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. By this means, the cassette can accurately indicate the presence of feline relaxin in the sample.

STORAGE AND STABILITY
Store as packaged in the sealed pouch either at room temperature or refrigerated (2-30 °C). The test is stable through the expiration date printed on the sealed pouch. The test cassette must remain in the sealed pouch until use. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not use beyond the expiration date.
PRECAUTIONS
Do not use after expiration date. Do not reuse the test kit.
Handle all specimens as if they contain infectious agents. Observe established precautions against microbiological hazards throughout testing and follow the standard procedures for proper disposal of specimens.
Humidity and temperature can adversely affect results.
Do not remove test cassette from its pouch until immediately before use.
Do not mix components from different lot and different products.
MATERIALS
Materials Provided
• Test cassettes
• Droppers
• Buffer
• Package insert
• Extraction Tubes • Extraction Tube Tips
• Workstation
Materials Required but Not Provided
• Timer
• Centrifuge
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Allow the test cassette, specimen, buffer and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C) prior to testing.
1.Collect feline’s fresh whole blood and separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Only use clear, non-hemolyzed specimens. Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long term storage, serum and plasma specimens should be kept below -20 °C.
2.The serum or plasma should be diluted 1:1 with the buffer provided. First, add 3 drops of buffer (approximately 120μL) to the extraction tube, and then hold the dropper vertically and transfer 3 drops of serum or plasma (approximately 120μL) into the extraction tube with buffer. Press the bottom of the extraction tube to mix the sample and buffer well, then fit on the extraction tube tip onto the top of the tube.
3.Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface.
4.Inverted the extraction tube and add 3 drops of extracted specimen (approx. 120 μL) to the specimen well (S) on the test cassette.
5.Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. The result should be read at 10 minutes, do not interpret the results after 15 minutes.
